Immediately allured by Flechazo’s flaming red cover, we follow its dark opening pages towards the inside to find beautifully printed images of everyday Mexican ambiance. From intimate scenes of food markets to heavenly landscapes, the gleaming red thread that ties all images together is a special attention to color, so lively and saturated. As the title suggests, Flechazo means a falling in love that comes so suddenly, much like Cupid’s flecha we were immediately enamoured by this book: a monumental object with its hardcover and deep blacks printed on fine paper simple, done with precision… Albeit, it must be said that others in the group weren’t so much infatuated with the clunky typography of the chapter openings.
