A modern, hardcover and the color choices of metallic blue and black printed on white fabric make the materiality of this book of a very high quality indeed. The fact that the image has a dithered raster, which looks like a woven fabric, creates an interesting structure in look and feel. This all comes together in a surprisingly modern design compared to a more classical way of presenting content. The blue of the fabric combines beautifully with the blue of the skies and water that comes through in most of the photography and works wonderfully with the bronze endpapers. The photographer has done an astonishing job in creating intimacy with the architect and this is evident throughout the book. The earthy tones match and compliment the rich images, and finally the strong shadows in the images combine well with the tight, solid text.
