Collecting Colour
Malin: This handy yellow (uhm, I mean “gialo ochre Sienna) publication presents a universe of pigments. Pigments that were captured in their jars and reappear due to the printing process. The colours visualize themselves. Clever! Sometimes it can just be that simple!
Ruby: Simple and small. I would like to put this cute book in the breast pocket of my shirt and carry it with me. The colour on the cut makes it a nice solid block. Maybe the design is nothing radical or new, but it just fits the content so well.
Birgit: I love the way the color continues throughout the book. The pictures are diverse in their joint theme and fun to look at.
Patrick: Collecting color works very well as a (small) object. You want to grab it and, indeed, as Ruby says, put it in your pocket. The choices of size, color and color on the cut are smart and clear. Especially these make the book. The fact that the designer has made simple and clear choices in the inside work is praised.
Auke: I totally agree. Although the design is not radical or new, again the execution is really solid. Small books like this have the tendency to make you squeeze your eyes since the elements on the page can be rather small. In this case that’s not happening at all. That’s what I meant with solid. Everything is very well-organized and clear. No need to squeeze your eyes out, just relax and enjoy this little pocket book.
