Dear Clay,
When you think of an archival book, you might not think of a book so poetically beautiful as Dear Clay,. The attention to details in this book teaches us that simplicity and complexity are not always opposite each other. As jury members, we often had the problem distinguishing between our appreciation of the work displayed in the book and our appreciation of the design. In this case, it was both: the work and the design complement each other. Again, Rudy Guedj built a beautiful balance between the artwork and the design, expanding the boundaries of the latter.
