THIS graduation catalogue from ArtEZ Academy has a design that is based on a trick of printing one colour on each side of the light paper. The sheets are folded twice and bound together. The front is printed in black and the back IN fluorescent orange. This technique of printing inside the folds using a flashy colour is often seen and therefore not unique. However, all of the different elements are carefully brought together and that generates beautiful effects. It is contradicting to have the fluorescent colour inside, as if it is hiding and shouting at the same time. The book shows playful layers of two colours: the portraits are printed using black ink and they have nice backgrounds of orange that are shining through the paper. Some typography on the back is printed in reverse but placed rightly at the front. These details make Stop! And Smell The Roses a rich book.
