What Haller Brun did with infographics for their 2016 book Parliament, Nico Bick did with the photographs shot between 2010 and 2016 for his book Parliaments of the European Union. What we absolutely admire is the artistry and the logistics of the development behind these visually stunning images. Their broad and supreme goal is to help their audiences see the EU in a whole new light. A look behind the fences is a difficult one for the average citizen to navigate. The need to engage those that have been alienated by the structures of power at many levels is also visible. It feels like you’re part of the room. This monumental project is the first to display a comprehensive display of the parliaments in the EU. Presented in a triptych or tetraptych fold-out, three or four individually shot photographs provide a ‘unique browsing experience with 30 fold-outs and 106 colour photos’.
