Dying is a Solo

Already the unusual bending cover is a hint to physicality. At first it feels uncomfortable, as if it has been ruined. Yael Davids work is mainly choreographic and revolves around the body as a documentary vessel. The placement and choice of the cover images (printed double sided) is also very precise and smart as it works well conceptually. Different paper choices are dividing the book elements into chapters. The alternation of image pages and script pages is dynamic and playful, and these are also defini-tions that are applied in choreography and are iconic for performative work. As a main navigator, there is another application of text that interweaves through all content and this is modern and well-constructed. The staples as a binding choice together with its size for the cut paper stacks is well considered because conceptually it hints to the original scripts that were used for these performances.
